Job Description:
This role is based in-person in NYC, and will serve as producer for all elements of pre-production, production, and distribution of Exactly Right’s New York based video and audio podcasts. This includes managing and producing content for publication across all platforms as well as all aspects of audio and video production.
This is a part time position.
Job duties include:
Manage the production and scheduling for assigned video and audio podcast shows including aiding with story and guest selection, writing and researching agendas, scheduling recordings, leading recording sessions, producing and assembling audio and video episodes, post-production, ad spots, and show promotion.
Assemble and edit weekly episodes in partnership with our engineering team. You must have prior experience editing.
Lead remote and in-studio recording sessions, able to troubleshoot basic technical issues while directing talent.
Help oversee team communication and job duties on assigned podcasts, including in-house and freelance staff.
Produce social media content in conjunction with our Marketing & Social Teams, including video.
Communicate regularly and in a timely manner with podcast hosts, production team and team leaders throughout the production process.
Quality check episodes to ensure they meet network standards and pass legal clearances.
Help facilitate booking requests and guest scheduling.
Track, record, assemble and deliver quality ad spots.
Review listener emails and correspondence for inclusion in shows.
Maintain a library of talent releases and clearance agreements.
Contribute fresh ideas to keep content exciting and innovative, including suggestions of themes, stories, and content for upcoming episodes and social media content.
Manage high-priority relationships with key talent and their representatives.
Partner with internal teams including project management, marketing, operations, legal, revenue and licensing on the development, launch, production, monetization and evolution of network podcasts.
Qualifications:
3+ years’ experience as a podcast producer required. Video experience is a plus.
Intermediate knowledge of ProTools required for assembly of episodes, including all host and network content notes before final audio mix delivery.
Passionate and knowledgeable about the podcasting medium, with ideas for how to innovate and create hit shows that break the mold.
Deep and significant experience managing and leading thriving creative teams.
A demonstrated passion for comedy and true crime is a plus.
Experience working with high level talent.
Strong project management and organizational skills, able to create production calendars and keep shows on schedule.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to maintain a high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to adapt content strategy within digital formats and new technologies.
Low ego, solutions-oriented person adept at managing multiple stakeholders, cultural nuances and personalities, including celebrity talent.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and at ease with people from different cultural and educational backgrounds.
Work Environment:
Must be available to work in-person in New York City.
Sometimes required to work weekend and/or non-standard hours
Pay Range:
Listed hourly range is approximate. Final rate will be determined commensurate with experience.
